Video of Shark Being Dragged in Florida Draws Outrage

The 11-second video, filmed recently in Florida, shows a shark bouncing up and down on the water as it's dragged behind a boat at high speeds.

A group of men on the boat laugh and point at the animal. One of the men seems to imply the shark will die soon, saying, "Look, it's already almost there," the Washington Post reports. The video has been shared thousands of times on social media, and is drawing condemnation from not only animal-rights activists but sport fishermen.

Charter captain Mark Quartiano says he was sent the video by someone he believes was on the boat, according to WESH. He calls it "one of the most horrific things I have seen in 50 years of professional sport fishing." Another charter captain, Nate Weissman, tells the New York Daily News the behavior in the video is "disgusting."
